10/12/11

I was reminded of this beautiful word picture of what Christ does to our broken hearts last night and felt the need to share:

"God ministers to His children willingly and lavishly whether our hurt is minimal or unbearable, but all of us would likely characterize a broken heart as one of life's most painful experiences. ... The idea of compressing the hemorrhaging heart is very much like the practice of applying pressure to  badly bleeding wound.  What a wonderful picture of Christ!  A crushing hurt comes to our heart and the sympathizing, scarred hand of Christ presses the wound; and for just a moment, the pain seems to intensify... but finally the bleeding stops.... are you beginning to see the intimate activity of Christ when we're devastated?  And to think, this is the same One we accuse of not caring when the crushing moment occurs."
