Don't these flowers look like mint candies?

Wesley and Mikayla had a substitute teacher today because we are having our Fine Arts competition today and tomorrow and their teacher was in charge of poetry. The sub came up to me at recess and said Wesley and Mikayla were some sweet kids. She said that earlier in the morning kids had been talking when they weren't supposed to be and they had to run laps. She wasn't sure who all did talk because of it being many in the class so she told them they had to run. Well, she shared with me that Wesley came up to her right after recess began and said he had run his lap for talking. She was impressed that he not only remembered the consequence but did it without being told again.

Some days when the kids have "selective hearing" at home it seems they aren't paying attention, but moments like that show me they are learning and applying what is being taught. I am so thankful for that. Goodness knows they are not perfect and it is a work in progress.

What makes a child successful, in my book, is the knowledge of listening and obedience. If they listen and obey those who God has placed over them now, it will be an easier transition as they become more mature in Christ to listen and obey HIM.
