HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

On this day that we celebrate the beginning of our country... let's take the time to remember what we really celebrate.

We can get very caught up in the fireworks.

We get excited over the vacations we might take during this time.

We plan parties and cookouts to celebrate the day.

Sometimes we forget what this holiday is really about.

It is easy to talk about or put a line about freedom on your Facebook status or even on your blog (as seen here).

How much do we really stop and think of what that liberty means?

We're so caught up in the fun of it all that we don't really remember the sacrifices made long ago and even today.

Let's have a lesson on what that red, white, and blue really stand for.

RED
stands for courage and bravery
I see that in our soldiers... but I am not so sure I see that in our nation as a whole..

WHITE
stands for purity
This is going downhill even faster in our nation today. Purity is a thing of the past and "do what feels good" has taken its place.

BLUE
stands for truth
Truth is so skewed today. What once was truth is now old fashioned and narrow-minded.

We have been so free for so long that we have forgotten what it truly means to have liberty. Now it is an entitlement.

Let's take the time today, and every day, to think on what it really means to be free indeed! Thank you is just not enough for the sacrifices made.

Freedom doesn't come freely.

We need to stop trying to always say "God Bless America"... which He has time and time again. It is time for "America to Bless God", turn back to HIM, and give thanks for what He has given.

"Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism"

George Washington, Farewell Address, September 19, 1796

"The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right, which Heaven itself has ordained."

George Washington, First Inaugural Address, April 30, 1789

"Posterity: you will never know how much it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it."

John Quincy Adams
