Here is our guide sharing wonderful tidbits of info. with us. The people who do the tours are actually volunteers. She was a librarian. They have to go through a class and "graduate" in order to do the tours. She said they do their graduation ceremony in The Old North Church!
Walking along an area that has become a park but used to be a freeway going through the city named after the Kennedy's. It didn't work in the city as they had thought because there were too many cars for the strength of the road area. They tore it up and have made parks out of parts of it.
Old North Church - would have loved to have gone into it but they were holding services when we walked by.... and, again, when you are on the tour you don't have the time to go inside everything.
One of the cemeteries near Bunker Hill. This is not a grave of someone famous, rather it is proof that the British soldiers used it as target practice!
Crossing the Charles River into Charlestown. Beautiful boats around the harbor. You can see Bunker Hill monument in the distance.
This is not a great picture but the best I could do.... these little white dots in the water are all Moon Jellies!! It was the neatest thing to see. Wesley spotted them first and we just watched them for as long as we could. :)
They were working on the monument. Out front of it is the statue of the Patriot who led the charge against the British. (can't remember his name at the moment....)
