More "art" pics today... taken at the Mansions in Newport, RI.

I began to look around today after school and began seeing the leaves change. I don't know if this fall will be as beautiful as last year because of our drought time, but maybe all of that rain last week helped them to hang on for color.

I just love fall...

The colors.

The cooler temps.

The bright days.

The smells.

THE NC STATE FAIR. :)
(more about that last one coming in a future post!)

What do you love about fall?

Here are some thumb tacks... but they are not just any boring thumb tack.... they are quite cute in all of their colors.
We have them on our mini bulletin board by the phone.... that is supposed to solve my problem of needing sticky notes all over my cabinet doors, but it doesn't always work that way. I am an extremely visual learner/"rememberer" so I must have it in front of me to get it done and remembered.

Unfortunately, that causes me to have some areas of "mess" on the counters, on my desk, etc... For someone so OCD over some things I am not so hot in this area. LOL

Last week we went to our Teacher's Convention in Myrtle Beach. It was probably the best one I have ever been to in all of my fifteen years of going.

One of the pastors spoke on Psalm 119:9-15 and this post on "remembering" was perfect to remember what he said!

He talked about how we can know God and what He wants for us by looking in His Word. Here are his "R's" of remembrance using that passage of Scripture:

1. Realize who said it - vs. 11-12
2. Repeat it - vs. 13
3. Rejoice in it - vs. 14
4. Reflect upon it - vs. 15
5. Respect the Word of God - vs. 15
6. Relish it - vs. 16
7. Remember it - vs. 16

I really enjoyed the part where he said to reflect upon God's Word. How many times have I read a passage of Scripture and when I walked away from it I couldn't really remember what I had read??? Our brains are so "busy" now with so many things we are trying to remember that we forget to reflect on God's Word! He began to have us think on different attributes of God and in so doing we began to meditate on Him. It was quite enjoyable and so worth it.

I challenge you today to read a couple of verses and "chew" on them completely so that you can get all you can from His Word. You will not regret the time spent reflecting because it will only help you remember it!

Just some interesting pics of barnacles and shells on the rocks in Maine. :)

Wesley made my night this evening. He found my lovely school pictures... the ones I get taken every year and then like to look back on and laugh... and he asked if he could have one for his wallet. He carefully cut it out, and since it was one of the smaller ones, he glued it onto a sheet of paper so it would fit completely in his picture area of the wallet. lol

That just made me quite happy. :)

The beauty of the spider web....

I have always wanted to photograph a spider web that had rain droplets on it. I finally got my chance in Maine. As we were walking around Jordan Pond I found this beautiful creation adorned with water droplets.

Have you ever stopped to think how marvelous a spider web is? I realize they are NOT fun to run into or get on you, but to sit and watch a spider make one...

Incredible.

Enjoy the views I was able to capture as I got closer and closer to the web.

Psalm 34:1-4
I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
O magnify the Lord withe me, and let us exalt his name together.
I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

More beauty from the summer in Maine.

Here is a quote for you today:
If I fail to hear God's voice, it is not because He is not speaking to me, but because I am not listening. I must be quiet to hear the still, small voice of God.
(see I Kings 19:12)

Notice today's date! hee hee ;)

I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to do more of my Maine pics. I did a few over the weekend so I thought I'd share some more.

These gulls were hilarious on this rock. I believe this was "Gull Convention Center"....

Enjoy the different ways I was able to capture these gulls. It was quite fun sitting there watching them!

This one definitely knew how to stand out in the crowd!

Enjoying the sport of rowing from the comfort of his rock.

"Don't mess with me!"
