01/04/11

This was taken of our backyard from the pasture area between our house and Mom and Dad's. We haven't had snow like this in years. It was nice to have just snow clinging to the trees without all of the ice. Of course, I do like ice for other reasons. lol
I was asked in my comments yesterday about Wesley's Walmart bags on his feet in our snow pics. Yes, he did indeed have on those bags. Before he got snow boots (any of us for that matter!) we used Walmart bags to cover our shoes in the snow. That is just what southern folk do because it isn't worth buying a pair of boots you may never wear. Well, last year we got some "hand me down" snow boots and then Steve bought Mikayla and I a pair to wear, too. They definitely beat the Walmart bags, but Wesley comes up to me last week and tells me he wanted to wear them on his feet for "the memory" of it all. This is coming from the child who complained NON-STOP when he had to wear them in previous years. Oh well.... guess he is as sentimental as his MOM! lol

I thought I'd show some pictures of us with Molly. She is now 12 weeks old and we have had her 6 weeks today! I cannot believe how big she has gotten... nor how much I love her. I say that because I have always loved our dogs from afar before Molly. She just melted my heart from the first day and I haven't looked back.

I can't get over how small she was the night we got her.....

This was her last week in the snow with Steve.

Over the break she decided she liked inside better than outside and crashed through us at the door a few times. (I must admit that I thought it was beyond funny and the sweetest thing to have her inside... but Steve took care of that the next time she came in.... she IS our outside dog, you know.)

She's so busy but she loves to be held. Her tail goes ninety miles a minute.

The kids love her bunches and bunches, too. Pretty soon she will be bigger then they are!

She surely loves that head scratched. She would have sat there all day if Steve would have continued!

Isn't it amazing how pets can just grab a hold of your heart and never let go? I realize some of you out there are not animal people (KIM... oops.... did I just say that?) but if you ever realllly let one in and allow them to love you it is something that you will never regret.

Our dog is a diva and we adore her anyway. It is hard to see them get old, like mine is.

I've never had an outside dog... or even known anyone with an outside dog... Do they sleep outside? She sure is a cutie!
